Tennessee will reportedly be without quarterback Tyler Bray for at least several weeks after he suffered a broken thumb during the Volunteers’ 20-12 loss to Georgia on Saturday.

Bray could miss up to four weeks after an x-ray revealed the broken thumb on his right, throwing hand according to a source who spoke with the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

Per the report, Tennessee is still waiting on an MRI to determine the extent of the injury that was suffered when Bray banged his hand on a defender’s helmet.

The sophomore was leading the SEC in total offense (303.8 ypg) as well as passing yards per game (315.8) and passing efficiency (165.2). He had thrown for 1,328 yards and 14 touchdowns with two interceptions.

Senior Matt Simms will more than likely get the starting nod for the Vols (3-2, 0-2 SEC) in his absence including this weekend’s game against No. 1 LSU.
